Sad news for anyone who has had the joy of using Storify to pull together a bunch of content and use it to craft a narrative – the site will no longer be available after 16 May 2018.
Storify has put together a Q+A about its impending demise but some key points are below:
- You can keep using the site to create up until 1 May 2018
- If you have content on your account you want to keep, you’ll need to export it by 16 May 2018 (there are details on how to do this on the Q+A page linked above)
- After 16 May 2018, Storify accounts and their content will no longer be accessible, so if you’ve embedded them anywhere on your website you’d best make a note to sort out what you’re going to do about it!
Why is this happening? Well, to enable them to launch Storify 2, a premium service for which you’ll need to buy a license for Livefyre.
Is nothing free any more?? Well, yes, actually – The Native for example 😉
Anyway, let’s take a moment to toast Storify’s legacy – so long and thanks for all the drag and drop fun.
