RIP Storify

Estimated read time: 1 minute

Sad news for anyone who has had the joy of using Storify to pull together a bunch of content and use it to craft a narrative – the site will no longer be available after 16 May 2018.

Storify has put together a Q+A about its impending demise but some key points are below:

  1. You can keep using the site to create up until 1 May 2018
  2. If you have content on your account you want to keep, you’ll need to export it by 16 May 2018 (there are details on how to do this on the Q+A page linked above)
  3. After 16 May 2018, Storify accounts and their content will no longer be accessible, so if you’ve embedded them anywhere on your website you’d best make a note to sort out what you’re going to do about it!

Why is this happening? Well, to enable them to launch Storify 2, a premium service for which you’ll need to buy a license for Livefyre.

Is nothing free any more?? Well, yes, actually – The Native for example 😉

Anyway, let’s take a moment to toast Storify’s legacy – so long and thanks for all the drag and drop fun.
